When Abby turned four months, we got the go-ahead from Dr. Tatsumi to try a bit of rice cereal. It's been quite the adventure! I knew babies needed to learn to eat, but I thought it would come much more naturally and that it would just be a matter of bringing out the "skill". Bah. I actually have to teach her every step of the way! She started just kind of feeling it out with her tongue, then pushing it out of her mouth and spreading it all around with her fingers. We're to the point now where she may naw on the spoon a bit, but it's hit and miss, and still mostly miss!

Happy Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day was absolutely wonderful. We got to spend some time over the weekend with Cory and Shannon and their kiddos, Grandma and Grandpa Nuest, and Great-Grandma and Grandpa Z. It was a crazy Saturday!

On Sunday, I got to go to church and show my little girl off, and then we went out to lunch so Mom didn't have to cook! AJ was wonderful all day... she even sent me flowers! Somehow she knew how to look up the number, pick up the phone, order my favorites, and even sign the card. The girl's brilliant:)


Because we were going to stay in Morris over Mother's Day weekend, Abby gave Gramma Pennee her card early. AJ was nice enough to drool all over it before handing it over!

Rollin' over!

At the end of April, Abby hit one of the major milestones of baby-hood and rolled over front-to-back. I tried to catch some of her attempts... one resulted in a lot of conversation, one ended with some spit-up, but two were successful. I'll leave it to you to figure out which is which!

Abby Laughs!

Kayla had a toy that Abby thought was absolutely hilarious, and Kayla was able to get it on video for us! She may just be the funniest thing I've ever heard.

Three months old!

AJ was three months old yesterday... unbelievable! She's still just a peanut, but she's really starting to mature. She focuses and smiles, and on Monday she laughed for the first time! It was hilarious. She was sitting on Daddy's lap, zoned in on the TV, when she started laughing out of the blue! I looked at the TV to see what was so funny and it was a denture commercial... Then, of course, we tried to get her to laugh again, but she just stared at us wondering what we were so excited about!
