The Jumperoo.

I know I already created a post tonight, but we set up Abby's Jumperoo because she is so wiggly and squirmy and always on the go and thought it would give her something to do. She loved it, and looked so cute I just had to share. Look at her little legs dangling!! She's got a bit to grow:)

There are little toys that hang from the top of the Jumperoo... Abby caught sight of one and wanted it!

FLORIDA

Last week we packed our bags and headed to Florida to stay with Connie and Steve. It was a much needed vacation and a wonderful time for our little family! Abby loved the warm weather... I think she was born for the outdoors. We got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Ashlee, Great Grandma Vera and Wes, and a lot of the Schrupp's as well. Abby was great on the plane ride... a little fussy at times, but really not bad at all. I was so proud! Here are some pics from our trip...

2 months! Oh my goodness!

My little peanut is two months old already. Unbelievable. She's up to 8lbs 10oz and continues to develop her personality... and somewhat of a schedule (which mommy appreciates). Abby talks all the time and smiles more and more. It's so much fun and always brightens my day! I'm back at work full time this week, which I wouldn't feel near as good about if we didn't have such a good daycare set-up. Kayla is awesome, and even took and printed these pictures for us!

Abby had her two month shots yesterday... She cried so hard! I cried too... it was hard to see her in pain and I couldn't make it go away. I also felt so guilty... here I was holding her hands and kissing her face like usual, and she had no idea what was about to happen. My poor little girl. It knocked her out too... she slept most of the day and most of the night. She seemed back to normal this morning though. I will do everything I can to make sure Chad takes her to the next appointment!

BIG stuff.

BIG Clothes! Abby is finally in to 0-3 month clothing! She still fits into most of her newborn outfits, but we're excited to move into the bigger clothes because it means we have a lot more cute things to wear! They still look at little big on her... :)

BIG Introductions! We met Lucy last Friday, who is exactly 4 weeks younger than Abby. Her parents and I already joke about how Lucy and Abby will make great cross country teammates! It's fun to have another little baby for Abby to play with... we're excited for Kelly to have hers too and add to the fun!

BIG Success! Abby and I went and watched Uncle Brady at his section wrestling meet. He took first and is headed to state this weekend! We're hoping he makes it to finals on Saturday so we can go watch and cheer him on again.

BIG Sleep! Abby still isn't sleeping too much at night... she doesn't always wake up because she's hungry. Sometimes she needs to burp or spit up a little, and sometimes she's just too congested and needs to be walked around a little so she can breathe again. We talked to the doctor about it during her check-up, and he said that sleeping her at a 45 degree angle would probably help. Makes sense... Abby sleeps really well in her swing and car seat, which are about the right angle. He also said that the car seat is ok to sleep an infant in at night. So, we gave it a go last night, and Abby slept for about 4 1/2 hours straight! Hopefully this is just the beginning of a lot of long sleeps at night!

My how time flies...

I can't believe Abby is almost 6 weeks already! Where did the time go? Everyday she seems to change... she's over 7 lbs now, smiles a lot more (though she still hasn't figured out why to smile), and her personality is starting to develop. I can already tell she's going to be strong... and maybe even a little stubborn! Abby is a very content little girl... until she wants something or is uncomfortable... then she lets you know without holding anything back. She loves to cuddle with mom in the morning and dad when he comes home from work, laying on her back and kicking around, swinging in her swing, and I think she's even starting to enjoy her baths!

I head back to work next week, and while I'm looking forward to getting out of the house more and seeing all my co-workers again, it will be very difficult to leave my little Abby. Thankfully, she'll be with a young lady every day who will be able to devote all of her time and attention to Abby since she only does infant care and is yet to have kids of her own. We were very lucky to find her, and I really do think we have the best of a tough situation. Enough about that... back to enjoying the full days I have left with my baby girl!

The Life and Times of Little Miss Abby

Chapter 1: A Weekend Away

We took our first big trip this past weekend! We packed up Steve and Connie's Torrent and headed East for a weekend in Becker. Abby got to meet a lot of people... Emery and Sherry, Russel, Vicki, and Jena, Leah and Garret, Cheryl and Lynn, Ann and Jay, and Amy and Gary all stopped by. Her Aunt and Uncle and a couple of her cousins came to see her as well. She handled it all very well, but as you can see in the picture below it was a very tiring weekend! Look at her little folded hands!

On Sunday, Chad and I went to the Gopher vs Michigan State game. We left Abby with my Mom and Dad... it was probably the hardest thing I've ever done. I knew I was only going to be gone a few hours, and I was leaving her with Grandma and Grandpa (not a stranger), but going somewhere without her was tougher than I ever thought it would be. I cried when I left, but the time away was good and I really needed the time with my husband.

All in all, the weekend went well and it was great to see everyone. Still, it's good to be home!

Chapter 2: Bath Time!

I love giving Abby a bath! I get to see her beautiful little body and she's just so stinkin' cute. Abby isn't too crazy about baths yet, but does a lot better now that we can give her a bath in the tub and not just a sponge bath (so cold!). I think she'll come to like them... for now it seems like she just isn't quite sure where she is. Some pictures from her latest bath...

Abby is not happy with her bath!

Finally done and drying off!

My little cutie pie, clean and dry!

Chapter 3: What did Mommy do?!

Turns out Abby and I have Thrush. I called my Midwife this morning, and she recommended two treatments... One, a prescription, needs to be administered 4 times a day for two weeks. The other, an over the counter called Gentian Violet, is a once a day for 3-4 days.. but stains everything purple. Since this is interfering with breastfeeding, I opted for the quick treatment. Paige told me it was messy, and she wasn't lying!

I was able to get the Gentian Violet into Abby's mouth without a problem... until she decided to suck her fist and wipe it all over her cheeks!

We were able to get most of it off of her face, but she will definitely have purple lips the next few days!
